Que Sera Sera
by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
I, too, am a worrier, so my grandpa always use to sing this to me - replacing "sera" with "Sarah" : )
ReplyDeleteHe passed away last December, but whenever I hear this song, or read about it, or when it pops into my head, I know he is still around!
Thank you for posting this!
xo,
Sarah
Oh Katie, you know I feel you on this post! I've been singing that song myself the last few days, that's for sure :)
ReplyDeleteI love that song!! I sing it to my step-daughter when I tuck her in all the time. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a great mentality to have...even when we have to keep saying it over and over in our heads, forcing it in there, lol. Hope today treats you much better!
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to keep the worrying away (I'm struggling with it myself right now). This was a great post - thanks for helping me keep my head on straight. Have a good day!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a really hard time accepting that "whatever will be, will be" but it's a great sentiment and something I need to do a better job of remembering! Hope you keep that worrying tuned down!
ReplyDeletePretty sure i have "whatever will be, will beeee" on repeat in my head. Thanks for that :P
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the champion worrier in this household. I try to gently remind him that nothing is achieved by worrying besides getting worked up, and if you can't change it or predict it then it isn't worth worrying about. It's hard but we're getting there, and you will too!
Life is too short to worry about the what if's, my darling ♥ xx
Thank you for getting that song in my head for the day. Your a giver. *grrrrr*
ReplyDeleteI love old Hitchcock movies as well.
I hope that whatever you are worrying about will resolve itself soon.
