Good luck getting that song out of your head for a few days. You're welcome.
I officially have a farmer's tan/sunburn. Woot! It's drop-dead sexy; I'm not gonna lie. Yep, spent the morning in the sun yesterday, and now I'm nice and lobster-y. Oh, the joys of my skin. On top of the sex-ay sunburn, I'm also aching all over from lots of hoeing. And no, I haven't started hooking to pay off the new laptop. Jeremy and I actually planted our garden and front yard flowerbed yesterday. We've planted a lot this year, including little J.M. so pray we don't killanything everything.
We started with lots of plants, four bags of mulch, and two very obviously neglected garden plots.

And ended up with a pretty little vegetable garden and a sorta okay flowerbed.
A little underwhelming... |
even more underwhelming. |
Hey, so we may not be master-gardeners yet ever, but we sure enjoyed our little foray into gardening. And once the vegetable garden is all grown up, maybe I'll even cook something using our very own, home-grown peppers, tomatoes, and zucchini. If someone knows of a dish using all three, even better! Let me know, and Jeremy and I will be sustained all summer on said dish from our garden alone...
By the way, I wanted to share with you guys a contest I'm participating in that I think is way fun for a new blog that One Mixed Bag introduced me to. Do Sweat the Small Stuff needs a pen name! Help her out by clicking below:
We are the WORST gardeners. We have tried and tried and all that grows is herbs (not the worst thing though!) I hope it all fills in for you soon and you feel a little less underwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteI spent the day looking out the window at snow falling. Jealous of your sun, but not the sunburn:)
ReplyDeleteRoy is a Master Gardener. He is so itching to get into the dirt. Me, I'm a pointer gardener. "Oh, that is pretty will you plant that for me?" (Pointing to said pretty)
ReplyDeleteSo when are you going to start the hooking? Are you going to have business cards? I can make you a stamp. Kind of like a stamp you get at a coffee shop. Frequent "buyer" stamp. I'm a helper.
Can't wait to see what you whip up with your own little veggies!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Sunday Hop - Yep, I don't have a green thumb and now living in South Florida I am even more clueless about gardening. Great blog.

I always thought they should have an exercise DVD for gardeners so we could get in shape for Spring LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the hop at WynnieBee's - have a wonderful week!
Dang you with this song....lol
ReplyDeleteJust went outside on the deck to uncover the patio furniture and move all my planters out into the sun...unzipped the umbrella and..voila!
BEEEEEEEES!
Once again, they managed to make a huge nest up inside the covered umbrella; they now have control until my hubs runs to Home Depot and buys a flame thrower or some other manly bug-eradicating device.
Ahhhh...love Spring!
Hugs!
I am totally seeing the awesome potential in your little plot! I'm sure it'll be wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteWe've had a horrid time gardening- no success in the last 3-4 years. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCatching up on my blog hopping- better late than never, right?
When you get the chance come visit me too!
Cheers-

I kill plants. I can't even keep a cactus alive - and you have to actually TRY to kill those things usually (I didn't...). So I wish you much luck in your gardening adventures my friend! I hope your Sunday was wonderful and have a fabulous week!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a promising garden! I wish I could also grow my own vegetables. I'm your 100th follower here from the weekend blog hop. Hope you could follow me back. Thanks! http://aimee-girltalk.blogspot.com
